Meet the Team

Internally, Creek, Preston, and Justin are affectionately known as the Island of Misfit Toys—not because they’re broken beyond use, but because God has redeemed each of them from their own often messy, unlikely paths.

Each has been called out of a different story, shaped through struggle, refinement, and grace, and brought together for something far bigger than any one of them could accomplish alone. Together, they bring their gifts, talents, and hard-earned wisdom to glorify God through film, storytelling, and the wilderness—trusting that God delights in using unlikely people to tell a powerful story.

Below are their bios.

  • Justin Long

    Writer / Partner

Justin Long has always felt called to use the creative talents God has given him to build up the body of Christ—he just didn’t always know how. Spending more than 20 years in Los Angeles pursuing the “Hollywood dream” gave him a deep understanding of cinematic storytelling, but it wasn’t until later that those skills found clear direction toward serving the Lord.

For more than a decade, he worked as a ghostwriter, screenwriter, lyricist/songwriter, and story consultant on both independent and studio projects. His experience included film and television development, with a strong focus on children’s entertainment. He also crafted sets for notable stand-up comedians and had the opportunity to study and work under the founder of the Groundlings, gaining valuable insight into performance, improvisation, and comedic storytelling. He saw notable success as part of the Disney Buddies franchise, while earlier independent projects received multiple awards and recognition at Los Angeles film festivals.

During COVID, he moved back to Kentucky to be close to family and entered a season of prayer, asking God to reveal a deeper way to steward his creative gifts. In that stillness, storytelling took on new purpose—not merely as entertainment, but as a means of pointing people toward faith, renewal, and surrender to God. That clarity ultimately led to God in the Wild, where storytelling now serves a mission rooted in spiritual awakening.

He considers it a profound blessing to help develop God in the Wild alongside a team united in purpose, creativity, and faith—all for the glory of God.

  • Preston Long

    Director / Partner

Preston is the Co-Creator and Director of God In the Wild. His love for film and visual storytelling began at an early age, creating home movies with his parents’ VHS camcorder. As he grew older, Preston set the camera aside and pursued music and performance, dedicating years of his life to that craft—unaware that God would later use that season to lead him back to film.

In 2014, a close friend from Preston’s music network won Season 6 of The Voice, and Preston was asked to document his journey following the show. That opportunity reignited his passion for filmmaking and marked a turning point—one where Preston put down the guitar and picked up a camera for good.

In 2016, Preston combined his musical background and production skills and toured nationally with viral video creators Kristin and Danny Adams as a show producer, AV technician, and slide operator, supporting their live productions and large-scale events.

In 2019, Preston formally established JP Productions, LLC, where he has since worked extensively in corporate video marketing, live events, and long-form storytelling, serving as a production assistant, camera operator, line producer, interviewer, and director. His work includes collaborations with organizations such as the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra and video marketing agencies like PAETHOS, where he gained opportunities to work with major corporate, philanthropic, and government leaders—including the Mayor of Indianapolis—as well as contemporary Christian artists such as Consumed By Fire and Leanna Crawford.

Preston met Creek Stewart in a church coffee shop, a place Preston frequented while his daughter attended preschool at the church. That unexpected meeting became the foundation for a creative partnership and the launch of God In the Wild in 2025.

Preston has been married to his college sweetheart for nearly 18 years. He and his family attend Traders Point Christian Church in Indianapolis and are proud parents to one daughter, with another child expected in the summer of 2026.
