Justin Long has always felt called to use the creative talents God has given him to build up the body of Christ—he just didn’t always know how. Spending more than 20 years in Los Angeles pursuing the “Hollywood dream” gave him a deep understanding of cinematic storytelling, but it wasn’t until later that those skills found clear direction toward serving the Lord.
For more than a decade, he worked as a ghostwriter, screenwriter, lyricist/songwriter, and story consultant on both independent and studio projects. His experience included film and television development, with a strong focus on children’s entertainment. He also crafted sets for notable stand-up comedians and had the opportunity to study and work under the founder of the Groundlings, gaining valuable insight into performance, improvisation, and comedic storytelling. He saw notable success as part of the Disney Buddies franchise, while earlier independent projects received multiple awards and recognition at Los Angeles film festivals.
During COVID, he moved back to Kentucky to be close to family and entered a season of prayer, asking God to reveal a deeper way to steward his creative gifts. In that stillness, storytelling took on new purpose—not merely as entertainment, but as a means of pointing people toward faith, renewal, and surrender to God. That clarity ultimately led to God in the Wild, where storytelling now serves a mission rooted in spiritual awakening.
He considers it a profound blessing to help develop God in the Wild alongside a team united in purpose, creativity, and faith—all for the glory of God.
